Frequently Asked Questions

1. How should we prepare for our trip?

We ask that you please arrive to the boat 10 minutes before your trip time! The address will be sent via text or email upon booking.  Remember, it feels like summer year round in Key West, meaning can be very hot and sunny regardless what time of year you book. See below for a detailed list of suggested clothing items / gear to bring on your trip.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON BOARD

  • Spray Sunscreen : most spray sunscreens contain harmful chemicals that stick to sand and end up in our oceans. These chemicals are very damaging to our ecosystem, especially our coral reefs; which is why spray on sunscreens are prohibited on board.

  • Glass Bottles or containers

2. Will food / drinks be provided on board?

We will have a large cooler with plenty of ice and water bottles available; however, lunch and other food items will not be provided.  Still, passengers are more than welcome to purchase and bring any food or drinks of their liking. Alcoholic beverages are allowed on board as long as they are not in glass bottles.

There is a Publix located at 3316 N Roosevelt Blvd, Key West, FL 33040 for those guests who would like like to purchase things before their trip.

3. What if we need to cancel out trip?

We understand that plans change and life happens. We ask that you let us know 48 hours in advance if you need to cancel your trip in order to receive a full refund.  Failure to cancel within 48 hours of your trip will result in only receiving a refund for half of what your trips costs.

Cancellations due to extrenueous circumstances will be considered and refund will be made at owners discretion.

4. What is your bad weather policy?

Our team is always monitoring the weather in order to provide our passengers the most comfortable and safe experience. If weather conditions are deemed unsafe the day of your trip, you will be notified the night before or the morning of your trip. If possible, we will reschedule your trip to a different date. If a reschedule is unable to happen for whatever reason, a full refund will be issued.

5. Do we need to purchase our own fishing license and gear?

No! All passengers are covered under Captain Landons fishing license. In addition, all gear such as fishing rods, lures, snorkeling equipment, etc; will be provided free of charge. However, you are more than welcome to bring your own gear if you desire.

6. We want to bring our kids on our trip, anything we need to know?

We love having children on our trips, seeing their big smiles when exploring the water is always wonderful! However, in order to embark on these adventures all children must be at least 4 years old. Additionally, under USCG  regulations children that are 6 years old or younger are required to wear a personal flotation device (PFD) at all times when boat is underway. PFDs will be provided free of charge. Upon booking your trip, please request a PFD for every child in your party under the age of 6. Other than that, please make sure you look at our suggested clothing / gear list to make sure your little ones are adequately protected from the sun and are ready for a fun filled day on the water!

7. What if we want to bring some fish back home after our trip?

No problem!! We offer professional filleting, packaging, and freezing for your catch. The fish will then be given to you, ready to be taken home and enjoyed!! There are also many delicious restaurants in Key West and the Upper Keys that offer catch and cook services. Make sure to ask us what our favorite catch and cook places are!!

WE DO NOT SHIP FISH ONLY PACKAGE AND FREEZE. If you are flying home, we recommend purchasing a mini cooler and taking your package with you as a carry on.
